EDUCATING JASPER

We do have a new member of our pack.   His name is Jasper and being that he is a brown border jus like me I have taken him under my wing.
He does be the brother of Moss n Onny but out in the wild they is pretty busy doing big dog stuff.
And the little brother gets left behind, as little brothers do........
So I'm showing him the ropes out in the big wide world.
Lesson #1 for the day is Water Safety.
Demonstratin the safety position
Big brother Onny was also roped in for a demo,  but I don't think Jasper was concentratin.
No, no, no weren't ya watchin,  that be the drowning position!!!
Or if you run fast enough you can just run across the top... not a speed I am used to.
Lesson #2.  Snackin.  Watch and Learn Jasper.  If humans are in the vicinity then its a pretty sure bet that there be treaties in the pockets.   You do need to learn to stand on your hind legs for this one.
Not even concentratin
Stand over tactics are what is required, not sitting down there gazin at the horizon.
Lesson #3  Rollin....  find a good smell and wallow.
I think my demonstration of my amazing rolling technique was a bit advanced for Jasper at this early stage.
I must admit I got rather carried away in the moment and forgot about my audience.
Doesnt life just STINK!!!!
DUDE, it doesn't take that much analysis,  you're not meant to sniff every blade.
I have offered to Aunty Jan for Jasper to come and stay and we can accelerate his learning programme to save her some time.  Watch this space.

Right, I'm off to slurp out of a puddle and Mums off to make coffee, but heck we won't be brewin up this stuff.  We are not amused...... thanks Marley for giving us the heads up.

WOODHILL FOREST

In my endless quest to find the perfect dog park in our beautiful city, on Monday we went for our first ever dog tour of Woodhill Forest.
First we went to round up some mates, its a really big forest and I didn't want to be lost on my own out there.    Meet Bindi and Bodie,  yes another cool Bodie.  These guys are looking for forever homes at the mo, I had to speak sternly to Mum who was looking at moving me over in my crate.
Follow me and I'll show you through Woodhill.  I have never been here before and have absolutely no idea where I am going but that has never stopped me from leading you all astray before.
A short walk on the old logging road and then off into the bush.
Bodie and Ollie out for socialisin
And theres no show without Nellie.
If the waters low enough you can walk up the stream.  Well you can, I have no intention of getting my undercarriage wet.
Theres something for everyone on this walk.     Mind - Don't step on me.
Eau de possum.

I'll be with you in a jiffy,  a good smell is not to be wasted.
Is this obsessive behaviour?  Do I need to get help?
Sunshine, freshwater stream, friends ,  plenty of room for every one and stinky things to roll in.  Heaven
We give this park a 10!  We'll be back.

WHAT'S HAPPENED TO SUMMER?

INSTALLING SUMMER in New Zealand....
███████████████░░░░░░░░░░░░░░ 44% DONE.
Installation failed. 404 error: Season not found. The season you are looking for was not found. It may have had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please try again...

We have it on fairly good authority that summer is coming in March.  We are not sure what happened to November, December, January.  And here is us last weekend.   This was a very hot day for a change and that yellow stuff on the grass is a rare thing called "sun" so I'm told.    We're making the best of it.  Last weekend we filled the bus with all my buddies and took off to Rerewhakaaitu, one of the lakes near Lake Rotorua.
Looks postcard perfect doesn't it,  we're trying to keep up bright and breezy appearances, we're sure you don't want photos of our rain.
Being a true host I let Max have the master bedroom.   Hmph!
Leaving me n Onny to top n tail in substandard accomodations.  We have put in a complaint to management!
Goose came too and kept a pretty low profile, enjoying the breezes under the bus.
So seeing as its not got too hot yet, the fur puller outerer is wondering whether to skip my summer strip and let me get reeeeeeeeeeeeeally hairy this winter like Hairy McLeary. What do you think?
Well as the master groomer hasn't got me to pick at,  look what she did to my cousin Finn.   She did a one day course.
Plucked, n washed, n clipped, n stripped, n shaved him.
Voila  le Finn!!

CAFE DOG

a beach trip for me followed by a cafe trip for mum.  Unfortunately I was not allowed to demonstrate my marvellous plate cleaning technique.   Mum said cafe folks might not be as impressed at my special abiliteez as we are in the comfort of our own home!!!   Go figah....
