THE LIFE OF RILEY

Just to show that I can share sometimes...  This weekend I took my friend Bailey to Soul Beach.
Mine   ......   all mine ......
Because its getting into winter only us hardened doggies can brave the wild west coast.  We pretty much had it all to ourselves.  How lucky are we aye?

Would you like foam with that?
Cafe au lait, - ocean style
Living in the wild wild west.
We walked for 3 and a half hours.   THREE AND A HALF HOURS!!   And seeing as I only have half the legs of the other doggies I reckon I walked twice as far.   This is only the halfway mark and even Tosca and Yogi looked stuffied.
Bailey thinks our secret locayshun is in heaven.
Something for everyone,  a stick for Koru,  throw it,  THROW IT.
Just as I decided to cross the stream the tide came surging in.
I'm not skeered,  just safety conscious.
Slight change of plan.
Were you worried about me?  Just a little?
View of our campground,  bet you can't even see  us.
Just to show that I do pull my weight around the house here is proof.  Me doing the dishies in my new jarmies.
Till next time.

SOUL BEACH

This weekend we escaped out of the teeming metropolis of Auckland to the edge of New Zealand.
Apart from the occaisional bird.....
And the occaisional human being.....
Rush hour traffic
Two occasional human beings huntin and gatherin
We pretty much had the place to ourselves.
We have been sworn to secrecy.
Swearing in ceremony
I think Australias over there somewhere.
Hi Honey, can you see me from there?
I had mile upon mile of beach to explore.
The beach was pristine,  now theres a word that should never be found in a Border Terriers vocabulary.
Dog graffiti
In fact my only complaint was the whole weekend I found nowt to roll in.
Not even nearly stinky enough ...
Being as famous as I am of course there were the pawpawazzi.
Stalking a Bodester?
We left the Goose at home on this trip, but I wasn't lonely.
Me & my shadow
My shadow stopping to take a scratch and me look at me patiently waiting.
While in Rome
Then my reflection muscled in on the act,  now this beach is getting overcrowded.
Ewwww Ghosts.
Looking for treasure.
My endless quest for stinky.
Somewhere over the rainbow.
No place like home.
No more daylight savings so sunset is about 6.15pm.
Night night New Zealand, see you in the morning.
Sunday morning I was told about todays adventure.
We're what?  If we were meant to be up there we would have been given wings.
While three of the intrepid team made it to the top and beyond,  me n Mum had to admit defeat.
Do I look like a mountain goat to you?  For dogs sake!!!
Edmund Hillary
Mum n me got halfway up to the top and then Mum had a nasty accident.    "Oh I think I have sprained a freckle"!!!!   Ouch!!!   and we went back home to put the kettle on.
The fun part is coming down.
Thought you were meant to be makin a cup o tea?
Next time we're bringing the goose to Soul Beach.  She should be able to run free.   Theres no rabbits and cows and cars and butterflies to chase.

AFTER FOUR

With only one month till daylight savings starts we are making the most of our local beach.

Freedom for us doggies off lead before 10am and after 4pm. Seems every dog and his man was down here last Sunday.

Met an oodle and a schnoodle. I think I'm in love with this black one Mum , can we take her home. The Goose and Ash won't mind.

Oh fun, a dog pile. Nope its not Bailey or Charlie Brown. He was a bit of a scaredy so we moved on.

Interviewed a schnauzer but .....................

............. he sloped off and started digging holes in the middle of the interview !

Mum says I seem to now be getting over my barkalottus at black labs. This one didn't need any barking at at all.

Its got four legs and a tail Mum,,, its a DOG.
Met an Auzzie

And a Mozzie. Calm down mate, we could tell it was a Beardie from 5 ks away. I know its exciting but really.

It's getting dark by 6pm but another month to go and the clocks go back. A few more beach trips to go.
Bodie the Ambassador of Pt Chev Beach.
