REMINISCING

The other day some previously unseen rare footage of my hairy little self was posted onto Mums social media page.    This was probably one of my more blinding rounds in dog obedience -  so we were thrilled to find that some pawpawarzi had captured the moment.
As I recall this was a stinking hot day in Rotorua and the dogrees wasn't really conducive to me pulling out any kind of round out of the hat at all so my handler was told to do a "commando" round.  Get in and get out before we melted into a puddle in the paddock.
You're doing well up there,   come on its only about 2 minutes of your life, its not gonna kill ya, you can do this.
Stop drifting away from me, you'll lose me points if you don't keep your leg on my furs.
Finito
I call this abandonment!
Off she goes.   Better make it snappy,  I feel the need to roll.

I think we were doing quite well till my handlers back broke!!
Could we have my tuggy toy next time?
Thank you Aunty Hana for these photos of me impawsonating an obedience champion.  We think some shots must be missing, maybe the bit where the helicopter hovered aboved and distracted me or whatever it was that meant that we didn't even get placed.   There must have been some even better teflon dogs this day.

RALLY NOVICE II

In March of the year 2012 Bodie the Bodester sets off on his epic trek across the boggy vast expanse of Greenhithe.
Latitude 2660447.54E   6390993.19N    Temperature warmish but bit ground conditions a tad soggy for his Lordship

I could die of hunger out here.....
Mile after mile, twisting and turning through mountainous terrain,  no end in sight, exhaustion setting in..
If I ignore you will you go away?
Suddenly his reverie is interrupted.
Sit!   What do you mean Sit!.  I'll get my pants wet!
SIT!  Did you say please?
Sit! (with body language)   Eek that was a quiet one but that body language, heck my guide means it this time.  I guess a cushion would be outta the question...Ok I'm sitting I'm sitting.

My best Sphinx impersonation, I need to keep myself amused.
Finally the end is near,   a few more steps to be staggered.
Time for a BIG lie down!!
Till finally, my guides goal of Rally Novice Cert achieved.  And this here is my fave interpretation of Bodie the Lounge Lizard.
WTF?
Ted also seemed to have had a really hard day.   Mate you have my sympathies but I bet you wasn't half as busy as me.

Bodie the Bodester,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  I'm sleepin...........

STRETCHING THE BOUNDARIES

Apparently I have goals to achieve this year.   Yes,  you may be as surprised as me to learn this.   I am a dog, and I have goals!!!!!!   You've got to be doggone jokin..........
Whatever happened to just bein a dog?   Sniffin butts,  rolling in stinky stuff, sleepin on the couch for 18 hours a day, barkin at the cats next door for daring to sit on our drive, chewin on ma paw and hangin out by the fridge?    Those were the days........
Well apparently my goals, yes its goals with an essss, not just the one,   are within the realms of possiblility otherwise my partner in crime would lose faith. #1. To get our Rally Novice Title. Apparently this is quite achievable, we need two champ shows with marks over 90. I do think I already have one under my belt but I have yet to retrieve the evidence. My filing clerk is more than a little lax, it's in here somewhere, gonna have to fire her ass.

#2 is a little more difficult - I am determined to get the hang of the WEAVES but it is proving to be a bit of a struggle. How many times do I have to tell you, don't put your hand on your side, that is your obedience hand and is telling me to stick to you like a teflon dog, not do weave poles.

Whats the matter, are you sick? Come on, you can do it!! We're not quitters round here. GET UP! I will help you.
OK, now try a different arm position, get rid of that obedience hand signal. There you go, you're getting it.
There is hope yet, you are going to look a bit naff running round the field like that but hey, I still love ya.

#3 goal is a CLEAR ROUND, where I stay in the ring for the whole course and dont miss any jumps n tunnels. That is called a STRETCH TARGET. Hmmmmm - back to my couch.

FIRST AGILITY SHOW

Our club had an agility show on Sunday so after 5 weeks of intense training I dragged Mum along to see what we could do.   Last minute instructions

Yeah yeah I know   concentrate, concentrate, no sniffin.
And we're off,   I have to let you in on a secret, this was the second attempt,  the first one I went round the side and so the timer didn't even start.    This ones a PASS.
Jump done,  what a legend.
What, another one already,  you go that way,  I'll meet ya round the front...
Wait right there, I'll be back,  just gotta go check out the bag wrapper I found in the agility shed earlier.
Back again for some more agiliteerin.   Who put this junk in my way.  Mums insistent I'm not to go round this.  SIGH!!
Tunnel in
Tunnel Out
I have to admit to some more extracurricular activities,  I ran out the ring on the other side too, so much to do, so little time.  This jump was actually me having another run at the end - once all the Micro weeny teeny dogs was done.   I think these teeny tiny jumps are much more me, what do you think.    Does my butt look big in this?

When the dogs was done with the agiliteez there was a 60 weave pole challenge.   Heres Pepper
Bailey
Brody
Jett
Koda
And the winner was Hiska the Kelpie.  Fast dog that one!!!!
Well after all that puffin and pantin I even got a stifficat.   Apparently it was just for breathin and lookin good.  Lucky they wrote Mini on there,  specially after someone was heard to mention my height might a been enhanced by a roll of fat round my neck.  Hey, us Borders are very sensitive you know.    I'll have you know that I've got RIBS!!!

AGILITY WEEKEND

There's whisperings going on that I am going to be doing the next course of agiliteees. Nope this is not me, but it could be me in the near future. Oh puleeze, when will Mum learn I am the King of Loungin Bout.
All this jumpin. Bindi makes it look easy but I'm not convinced.
And as for balancin on one paw on the top of a high bridge, Pepper you gotta be joking.
Mum spent the morning practisin with her new camera. As you can see she needs lots of practise , I think the dog was long gone by the time she clicked this photo.
While impawtint agilitee stuff was going on, others of us was just messin about.    Koda trying out Jet for prime jockey position.
Back at our camp I was entertainin the troops.
Knit one, purl one, can someone untangle our knitting please?
High Roller
This is what I started off Saturday morning looking like. Full winter suit on. Well after Mum got bored with her camera she had nothing to do and all day to do it. So this is what I looked like by Saturday afternoon.
Had to go to the beach with the other dudes in my undies. How rude. And its not even a proper job, I've still got my ugg boots on. In fact I look a bit like a brown schnauzer. I'm not going to make it onto Border Terrier Monthly looking like this now am I?
TRUBBLE
DUBBLE TRUBBLE
Beautiful Murph
We couldn't spend too long at the beach cos the tide was coming in and it was pretty flippin cold, well it was for me cos I'd had all my furs pulled off.
Mum accidentally took this really cool shot. Just shows you what can happen if you take a gazillion photos, you might get a good one. I think it would have been alot better if it had had a border terrier in it. But there you go.
